2020 was a rough year, we all know that much. But the year has just begun and it’s time to start off on the right foot or left if you prefer. Five ways I will be beginning the new year and making sure that I progress in someway shape or form are:
1) Extinguishing Fear
Last year fear stop me from doing anything. One was actually continuing with my entrepreneurship and being scared of leaving my job to become an artist. But now since the world with COVID-19 has expressed that the old way of living is not sustainable. I was let go of my job in the beginning of the pandemic. For some reason I no longer carry the fear of failure but the drive of the journey.
2) Have more gratitude
Many many people have lost their homes ,their jobs and even their lives. Just be more grateful that in the midst of everything you still have your life and many other things to be grateful for.
3) Be consistent,no excuses
From the last three years I have learned that consistency is the key to everything. I was able to realize this through my handstand training and my calisthenics journey. In a little under two years I was able to make great progress and learn mini mini things about myself when it came to being consistent. I realize that I made many excuses and I was blocking me from being my better self...But not this year
4) Be more expressive
I feel as though fear stops everyone from expression or true expression. I want to use my art to express either way I feel or either way I don’t feel. This year I will try to invest more in the art aspect of my capabilities and don’t doubt myself just express it.
5) Learn to learn
By this I mean last year was the only time that I was able to understand and learn from all the experiences that were happening around me. It was the only time that I allowed myself to sit and read multiple books. And the only time that I was able to liberate myself with knowledge that I became more confident. Now I will continue to want to learn everything under the sun. No judgement, just understanding.
