Gifs have been a round for decades now! But for some odd reason, I never thought to create my own. For the past two years I have been preaching practicing practice. Most times I didn’t even realize I was practicing what I preached. Let me explain. The way we communicate these days, many things usually get lost in translation on social media, text massaging, hell…even in email. But in using memes, emojis, and gifs we have been able to somehow get around uncomfortable conversation, biases, and straight up miscommunication.By practicing I mean I would try and use the same exact gifs with everyone I knew (saved them). Whether we spoke everyday or we hadn’t spoken
in years, I felt like I knew how to communicate using gifs. As a 32 year old black man, I always felt like I didn’t know how to express myself in different situations in the correct manner. I always got the “You dont act black” or “You don’t sound black” Speaking with fluidity and excellence was something people with idiocy running through their veins couldn’t understand. Getting upset/frustrated would’ve been the old me. But I’ve learned to stand up for yourself & what you believe in. Self expression is the key to changing your life. If I had the access to gifs back in the day those folks with the idiocy running through there veins would have gotten a more than a ear full. I would've created gifs mocking them lol
Integrating Giphy with Messages
One of the best thing I have done hands down is integrate Giphy into my messages app. The reason I say this is not just because I have been killing it on Giphy. But it’s a sure way of me communicating, expressing how I feel and continue to feel about my community, family and friends. It is a sure way to get your voice heard. Here’s how to integrate Giphy into your messages you'll thank me later.
1) First would obviously be download Giphy
2) Head on over to your setting and look for the Giphy app.
3) Click the Keyboards icon, then (if they aren't on) toggle the "allow full access" and Giphy buttons.
4) Next go to your general settings, click keyboards and make sure Giphy is added there as well, (if not use to toggle to allow full access).
Inspirations, aspiration, and digital connections
Though I am a newbie at creating gifs and animations I have been super inspired by the massive amount of amazing creators in the world. While I look for motivation on things to create I was able stumbled upon one of best things the internet has to offer. It was the worlds first animated gif book! No its not only digital, but it features some really Omazing/talented artist. The book is also available as hard cover option. I was so excited to share this book with anyone who didn't know about it.
If you are looking to have your minds fucking blown. Check out the digital copy right here.If you are looking to check other works that the 35 amazing talents have done, see the artist list below.
If you are looking to actually grab a physical copy you can check that out in the links below. Check out some of my favorites all at the bottom of the page.
